The understanding of security in the software world is undergoing a radical change. The Secure by Design initiative, spearheaded by the United States Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), aims to prevent cyberattacks before they even occur. Experts point out that a large portion of the vulnerabilities exploited today could easily be prevented during the software development phase. Instead of focusing solely on the most common known vulnerabilities, they emphasize the need to build software with a secure architecture from the ground up.

This new approach calls on technology companies to adhere to seven core security goals when developing their software. These include enhancing multi-factor authentication (MFA), phasing out commonly known default passwords, enabling rapid deployment of security patches, and establishing transparent bug reporting policies.
Cybersecurity is no longer a matter of panicking and patching vulnerabilities after a product is released; it's becoming a standard process that needs to be addressed on the production line. This allows both organizations and end-users to enjoy a much more secure digital ecosystem against cyber threats.
Some of the precautions we need to take to protect against these types of attacks include:
Do not open emails from untrusted sources.
Use multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Keep your system updated to the latest version at all times.
Monitor login logs regularly.
Track the security of mobile devices.
