Security researchers (iVerify, Lookout, and Google) have discovered a new spyware dubbed "DarkSword," which primarily targets users in Ukraine but has the potential to affect millions of devices globally.

Key Highlights:
No-Install Attack (One-Click): The most alarming feature of DarkSword is its "one-click" infection mechanism. Simply visiting a compromised website is enough to infiltrate the device, without requiring the user to download any files or grant any permissions.
Extensive Data Theft: The spyware is capable of exfiltrating iMessage, WhatsApp, and Telegram messages, as well as emails, location data, and even cryptocurrency wallet information.
Target Audience: Initially spread through Ukraine-based websites, it is suspected that Russia-linked threat actors may be behind the campaign.
Affected Versions: It is reported that the attacks specifically target iOS versions between 18.4 and 18.7, and approximately 20% of iPhone users worldwide are still running these vulnerable versions.
What to Do?
Apple has released security updates that patch these vulnerabilities. It is crucial for users to urgently update their devices to the latest iOS version (iOS 19 or the latest available patches).
