GEODI 10: All Your Data. One View

Documents that have remained on file servers for years, user computers, emails, Microsoft 365 environments, SharePoint sites, databases, and different repositories form an ever-growing and constantly changing data ecosystem.

In this environment, the challenge is not merely to find sensitive data. Organizations must classify it consistently across the enterprise, preserve existing classification investments, process high data volumes in time, and take direct action on identified risks.

GEODI 10 provides a holistic response to this need by combining classification, Discovery, indexing, remediation, and platform management within the same data security lifecycle.

Classification Exists, but Does the Entire Organization Speak the Same Language?

Organizations have invested in data classification projects for years. Over time, however, the platforms, policies, and labeling methods they use change.

Office documents, emails, and file servers may each use different classifications.

Acquisitions, mergers, system migrations, and changing security policies also make the existing structure more complex.

GEODI 10's Unified Classification approach addresses this problem through three complementary layers:

·       Applying new classifications within the applications where users work

·       Automatically discovering existing and historical classifications across the organization

·       Auditing the scope, accuracy, and currency of classifications

A common classification model can be used across Windows and macOS Office applications, Windows Explorer, SharePoint, Outlook Web, and Microsoft 365. The classification policy can therefore follow the data even when the document's creation, editing, or sharing environment changes.

One important distinction of GEODI 10 is that it does not focus only on newly created data.

Classifications that have existed for years across structured data, documents, emails, email attachments, and existing repositories can be recognized automatically. Organizations do not need to abandon past investments and reclassify millions of files from scratch.

Legacy Classification Audit makes it possible to:

·       Identify classification systems currently in use,

·       Measure classification coverage by repository,

·       Detect missing, outdated, or conflicting classifications,

·       Compare historical classifications with current policies,

·       Prepare migration and improvement plans based on actual data rather than assumptions.

Classification thus becomes more than a label added to a document. It becomes enterprise security data that supports Discovery, DSPM, governance, compliance, reporting, and remediation processes.

Process Up to 3 TB of Data per Day on a Single Discovery Server

As data volumes grow, one of the most significant challenges in Discovery projects is the time required to complete scanning.

When the initial scan takes weeks or indexing delays results, security teams cannot access an up-to-date risk view. By the time data is discovered, it may have been moved, duplicated, or taken outside the organization.

Depending on data characteristics and deployment architecture, GEODI 10 can process up to 3 TB of data per day on a single Discovery server.

Performance improvements are not limited to scanning speed. Indexing optimizations make discovered data searchable and actionable sooner. More efficient use of CPU and storage resources also supports a more scalable architecture for large repositories containing millions of files.

These developments enable:

·       A shorter initial Discovery period,

·       Faster completion of incremental scans,

·       Earlier availability of search results,

·       More efficient infrastructure planning for large data environments,

·       Continued Discovery coverage as data grows.

Finding Sensitive Data Is Not the End; It Is the Beginning

It is valuable for a Discovery platform to find sensitive data. But if that data remains in the same location, with the same access rights and risk level, the outcome is often merely a report.

Real risk reduction begins when a Discovery result is converted into a controlled action.

GEODI 10 enables remediation actions to be performed faster across larger data sets after sensitive data is detected:

·       Secure Delete

·       Quarantine

·       Classification

·       Encryption

·       Copy

·       Workflow actions

·       Data Masking

These actions can be performed while maintaining centralized control and auditability. Security teams can therefore answer not only "Where is our sensitive data?" but also "What did we do about it?"

Performance improvements in data masking help accelerate compliance initiatives by reducing the operational impact of masking projects conducted across large data sets.

Thousands of Endpoints, One Management View

The strength of an enterprise-scale DSPM platform cannot be measured only by how much data it scans. Thousands of endpoints, different agent versions, connection statuses, and Discovery operations must also be manageable.

GEODI 10's completely redesigned Agent Management Panel provides centralized monitoring of:

·       Agent health,

·       Deployment status,

·       Installed versions,

·       Connection information,

·       Discovery activity,

·       Operational status.

GEODI agents can initially be deployed using enterprise software distribution solutions such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM, ManageEngine, or PDQ. For subsequent versions, agents can detect the new release through GEODI Server and update automatically.

This eliminates the need to repeat software distribution operations across thousands of endpoints for every GEODI update, while preserving version consistency and reducing maintenance workload.

An Architecture That Scales Without an External Load Balancer

GEODI 10's built-in Network Load Balancing capability automatically distributes Endpoint Discovery traffic across multiple GEODI servers.

New GEODI servers can be added to the architecture as capacity needs increase. Discovery capacity can grow with the organization without investing in an external load balancer or introducing additional complex configuration.

Enhanced diagnostic information provides greater detail on Discovery progress, agent communication, connection problems, workflow activity, and operational events. Renewed SSL certificate lifecycle management also supports easier and more secure certificate changes.

What Has Changed with GEODI 10?

GEODI 10 is not merely a faster new release.

It offers a more holistic data security architecture that discovers and audits existing classification investments, provides a common classification model across different work environments, processes up to 3 TB of data per day on a single Discovery server, and converts identified risks directly into action.

For organizations, the outcome is clear:

Broader data visibility, more consistent classification, faster risk reduction, and lower operational burden.

The system in which data resides may change. The application in which it is created, the repository where it is stored, or the platform on which it is processed may differ. But the organization's strategy for discovering, understanding, classifying, and protecting data does not need to become fragmented.
