Snappy for Fake Wi-Fi Access on Public Networks

Cybersecurity researchers have released a new tool called "Snappy" that can help detect fake Wi-Fi hotspots trying to steal data.

Attackers in supermarkets, cafes, shopping malls, etc. It can create fake access points that are exactly like the ones that have been installed. The goal here is to be able to transfer sensitive data from devices after users trick them into connecting to the fake access point network.

Snappy's position here is that it can detect the access point that the user wants to connect to by a tool that attackers use to capture packets from connected users or create fake access points by interfering with network traffic.

• Do not connect to open networks as much as possible.

• Take care to use trusted sites.

• Use advanced security products.

• Pay attention to user awareness trainings in your institution.
